A beginner Bzminer and acc-pool tutorial.

Wallet

Before you can start mining Kaspa, you will need a wallet to receive your rewards. Three options are available, and detailed information can be found here: https://medium.com/kaspa-currency/kaspa-wallets-non-custodial-wallet-options-for-kas-8b473ff01c60.

The easiest option is to use the web wallet at: https://wallet.kaspanet.io

Click on “Create a new wallet” and follow the steps. Ensure you use a strong password and store your secret phrase safely(ex. writing it down on paper and securing it). Now that you have a wallet, you should also have a Kaspa address(Receive Address) starting with: “kaspa:********”

Miner Software

Download the latest version of Bzminer for Windows from the official GitHub repository: https://github.com/bzminer/bzminer/release. At the time of writing this tutorial, the newest version was v13.2.1. Extract the .zip file anywhere you prefer.

Now we need to configure Bzminer: Open the BZminer folder for your operating system.

Bzminer Download Files

Several prewritten windows batch files can be used to mine different coins. We need to edit the Kaspa one by opening it in a text editor like Notepad. You can also try right-clicking the Kaspa file and selecting edit.

Bzminer and Batch Files

Our pool of choice for this tutorial is acc.pool: https://kaspa.acc-pool.pw/ We need to uncomment the line that corresponds to it (by deleting the “::” symbols).

You also have to replace “kaspa:00000” with your own wallet address we just created in the web wallet.

Editing the Batch File

If desired, you can adjust other settings, such as intensity and GPU memory allocation, but this is recommended for more advanced users.

Save the modification(overwrite if you wish or save as new) and close the text editor.

Start Mining

Now we can finally start mining! Double-click on the Kaspa file we just modified. Windows will ask if you really want to execute this program. Allow it, and Bzminer should start! You will see a Bzminer watchdog window similar to this:

This example is just a dummy miner, but you should see (and hear) the GPU power and temperature increase. After some time, you will see accepted shares. You can monitor your mining progress in this window and your earnings on your pool’s website and wallet. To stop the program, press “Ctrl+C” and then press “Y” for “yes.” You can also close the window but verify that the GPU has stopped working.
